The blessed sage with qualities of compassion, calmness and limitless (invigorating) kindness in the heart,
Uprooting (& destroying) (completely) the wrong vision(s) and enlightening (people) with correct vision from the light of his wisdom lamp.
The holiest teacher of the world who teaches the gods and the human beings,
I worship (you) who excellently walked into the deathless Nirvana,

Sambudu bava pinisama apa Budu samidun edaa
Vaduvo pasak kalo thamak nuwana yodaa
Nivanata sapaminiyo dahamehi sitha randaa
Vandimi mama anutthara voo munidu dahama sadaa
The virtuous monks born from the heart of the Sugatha (who exclusively walked into Nirvana) sage are his noble children,
Conquering the armies of Mara (evil) they walked on the uncontaminated path of purification.
Completely well armed with the Eightfold Path to Nirvana (the four Noble Truths) they bear the Arahant flag,
I worship the sangha (the monks) the reverend children of the Buddha, with faith and complete comprehension.
